This week I searched my own business on Google, and the AI answer at the top of the page helpfully mentioned that there's also a Dr. Julia Mann who runs an AI centre at a university in Germany.
I did live in Germany once. I am not her. (Hi, Dr. Mann, if you ever read this.)
It made me laugh, and then it made me go and look properly. My LinkedIn still listed a company I'd already finished with as my current job. My Google Business Profile was set to serve "Australia", which in Google's eyes means nowhere in particular. A few of my older blog posts still had my old business name in the byline.
I teach business owners how to get their systems in order. And there I was, telling Google, LinkedIn and my own readers slightly different stories about who I am. Gahhh.
Below is the story of why my business is now called JulAi and what that means for the people I work with, plus the checklist I used to line everything back up. I doubt I'm the only one with a few old versions of myself floating around online.
What is JulAi?
JulAi is the trading name of JULIA MANN AI PTY LTD, my business based in Brisbane, Australia. I build marketing, CRM and AI systems in GoHighLevel for coaches, consultants, creatives and service businesses, in Australia and overseas.
Julia Mann, Julia Mann AI and JulAi are all the same business, and all the same person. Julia Mann AI Pty Ltd is the company. JulAi is the name you'll see on everything I make. And I'm the one you'll actually be talking to.
Why did I rebrand my business?
Because my old name described the tools I was using at the time, not me or the way I actually work with people. As the business changed, the name stopped fitting, and every time I said it out loud it felt a little less like mine.
I didn't rush it. I spent days on a shortlist of new names, and every single one I liked was already taken by someone doing something similar. House of Growth was taken. Built Different was taken, several times over. A couple of others belonged to agencies selling almost exactly what I sell, in my own city.
And the whole time, one name kept coming back to me. I'd had JulAi sitting in the back of my mind for months.
It's a play on my own name, Julia, with AI on the end. I love AI, and so much of what I do now is AI and automation, building agents and systems for other people. I thought it was funny to keep it as a bit of wordplay, and it stuck.
It's short, it's easy, and people can actually say it. And no, it doesn't tell you exactly what my business does. It's not called Marketing Growth Hub or some other name you'd forget by lunchtime. It's a bit abstract, and I'm completely fine with that. Nike isn't called bestrunningshoes.com, and Apple isn't called coollookinglaptops.com.
It felt aligned, and it felt like me. When an idea keeps coming back for months instead of days, I've learnt to pay attention to it.
So I made the call. The company is Julia Mann AI Pty Ltd, the brand is JulAi, and I started moving everything across.
Why does alignment matter when you rebrand your business?
Because customers and search engines both trust consistency. When your website, Google profile, LinkedIn, emails and offers all tell the same story, people understand you faster and Google shows you more often. When they don't match, both get confused.
A rebrand usually gets sold as a new logo and a colour palette. That's the fun part, and it's the part agencies love to charge for. The part that actually changes your results is less glamorous. It's making sure your name, your offers, your systems and what the internet says about you all line up.
My Google search is the perfect example. Google's AI answer was pulling from my website, my LinkedIn and my podcast, and because those didn't all say the same thing yet, it filled in the gaps with its best guess. Its best guess was someone else entirely.
AI search tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Google's AI Overviews all work the same way. They read what's out there about you and summarise it. If your own sources disagree with each other, you're making their job harder, and you don't get to choose what they say instead.
How do you check if your business is aligned?
Search for yourself the way a stranger would, then check that your name, description and offers match everywhere they appear. It takes about an hour, and you don't need to hire anyone to do it.
This is the exact list I went through. I found something to fix at almost every step, so don't feel bad if you do too.
- Search your business in an incognito window. Open a private window so Google doesn't know it's you, then search your business name plus your suburb. Owners always see their own profile, so this is the only honest test.
- Ask the AI tools who you are. Type "Who is [your business name]?" into ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity. Whatever they say is what your future clients will read. Note anything that's wrong or out of date.
- Check your Google Business Profile. Make sure the name matches your website, the service area is where you actually work (I had mine set to the whole of Australia), and your phone number is the same everywhere.
- Read your LinkedIn like a stranger. Look at your headline, your current role and the logo next to your name. If a finished business is still sitting there as your current job, people notice.
- Open your last five emails and your website footer. Old names hide in footers, signatures and automated emails you set up once and haven't opened since.
- Make sure your offers match what you actually sell now. I took out things I don't offer anymore, so nobody books a call expecting something I've stopped doing.
Why does JulAi build only in GoHighLevel?
Because it lets a small business run its CRM, follow-up, booking, email, SMS, funnels and AI automations in one place, instead of paying for a stack of separate apps that don't talk to each other.
This is the other big change that came with the new name. From now on, everything I build for clients, I build in GoHighLevel. I moved my own business into it first and cancelled most of the other subscriptions I was paying for, which is the only reason I'm comfortable recommending it to anyone else.
Most of the business owners I talk to have their leads coming in from five places, their follow-up living in their head, and a pile of apps they signed up for after a webinar and barely open. Putting it all in one system is the biggest single fix I see, and teaching you to run that system yourself is the part I care about most. I don't want you dependent on me, or on anyone else, to keep it going.
A quick honest note: GoHighLevel is a paid subscription on top of anything you pay me, and the entry plan was $97 USD a month when I wrote this. If you already have a CRM that works and you're happy with it, don't switch for the sake of it. Some of the GoHighLevel links on my site are affiliate links, which means I may earn a commission if you sign up, at no extra cost to you.

A new name won't fix a business that isn't working. If the real problem is leads going cold or follow-up falling through the cracks, a new logo just puts a nicer coat of paint on the same leak.
And don't rename because you're bored of looking at your logo. I sat with mine for months before I changed anything. If a name still feels wrong after a few weeks of living with the idea, that's worth listening to. If it only feels wrong on a bad Tuesday, give it time.
Frequently asked questions
Is Julia Mann AI the same as JulAi?
Yes. Julia Mann AI Pty Ltd is the registered company, and JulAi is the name it trades under. Both are me, Julia Mann, based in Brisbane.
What does JulAi mean?
It's a play on my name, Julia, with AI on the end, because so much of my work is AI and automation. It's short, easy to say, and it feels like me.
Who is Julia Mann?
I'm the founder of JulAi. Before this I built two six and seven figure businesses in the beauty industry. I'm a bestselling author (Business Is Simple), I've been featured in Forbes, I've won global business awards, I speak internationally, and I host the Ahead of the Algorithm podcast.
What does JulAi do?
JulAi builds marketing, CRM and AI systems in GoHighLevel for coaches, consultants, creatives and service businesses: the CRM, pipelines, booking, email and SMS follow-up, funnels and AI automations that stop leads slipping through.
Do you only work with businesses in Brisbane?
No. I'm based in Brisbane and work with clients on the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast, across Australia and overseas, mostly online.
Why only GoHighLevel?
It keeps everything in one place, so small businesses aren't paying for and juggling several separate apps. It's also what I run my own business on, so I only recommend what I use myself.
Where should I start?
Most people start with the Opportunity Map. It shows you where your business is losing time, money and leads, and gives you a written 90 day plan, whether you build it yourself or with me.
Want to know what's out of line in your business?
The Opportunity Map is a full review of where your business is losing time, money and leads, with a written 90 day plan to fix it. Take your time with it. If it's a fit, you'll know.
